hypocrisy at it's best.

i hate pink in a woman's sneaker, because it always seems like the easy way out. Yellow is a feminine color too, NIKE! WTF. But on the other hand, they must know something that I don't, because I'm actually feeling those Blazers. Damnit, they win again.

The Blazers are apart of the Exotic Splatter Pack, I don't really care for the other kicks, but here:

Donnie Darko Themed Custom Dunks

AH-MAZING!

the female bansky's 10 yr old hands.

Solveig is a 10-year-old graffiti artist based in the UK. Solveig, the girl's tag name and real first name, started painting her creations on special legal graffiti sites around Brighton, Sussex, at the age of eight. So far she has created 20 large-works which are typified by their bold, clean and colorful style. All the works are signed and include a note to state how old she was when it was created. Graffiti artist experts have already called her "the young Picasso of street art", while magazine Graphotism said she was "a major talent". Incredible.

Btw, she likes to play with barbies. I heart her.

how true.

kudos to whomever made this.

Cold War Kids.

The online video for the Cold War Kids’ “I’ve Seen Enough” is interactive.. cool way to waste time. As it plays you can mess with the band members individually-turning them on and off, or changing their instruments out.

Cold War Kids' Fun Time

fun fun fun.
i want a pet so badly, but I'm not going to do it to myself until I move into my own place, and get some time. But, even I cannot resist the cuteness!

Look. At. That. Belly.

2 questions: If i get a baby wolf will it: (a) be best friends with my Shiba, and (b) grow up and eat me?

curiouser and curiouser.

i have this insane obsession with Alice in Wonderland, EVERYONE knows this. This world of extraordinary imagination, continuously speaks to me in more way than one, and it's a relief to see it coming to the big screen. With all things going wrong in the world, anyone at any age can use this bit of fantasy. I like to think, Tim Burton makes his own Wonderland in every movie he makes, so I know this will not be short of an enchantment. Set to be released March 2010.

"so can you do me a favor if I pull it together
make it sooner than later we won’t be here forever
and I realize I waited too long
but please don’t move on.."

I don't want anyone else.

"I don’t feel the need to love people. I want to love the night. I want to love darkness and the magic that happens on Earth when the sun is gone. I want to love music and solitude. Oceans and deserts, cities and empty streets. Patches of earth that have been left devastated by disaster. Miles of land where everything has been rendered extinct or moved on. Leave this part of the world to me. People are too painful with their beauty and their desperation."
- Henry Rollins
Two things are clear:
1. I want a jellyfish
2. I want a jellyfish tattoo.
"Longing, we say, because desire is full of endless distances.."

I’d rather suffer Icarus’ fate than die in the labyrinth with the rest of them. At least I’ll have flown. At least I’ll know I tried to touch the sun.

perfect.

Some say I'm going the wrong way . . . when it's just a way of my own . . . away from the rest. Because not all who wander are lost.

Pokemon.

P can play with Pokemon on his Gameboy Color, allllllll fricking day. This reminded me of him. I love.

TODAY

my mood is real rude.

“Give me 20 D Energizers… D muthafucka! D!”

What makes Radio Raheem’s character so dope? :

1. A pinky ring will have you looking fly. Times that by 4 and you got a four-finga ring (also serves as brass knuckles) …one of the best innovations in jewelry. Now double that with a lil philosophy on Love and Hate, you got the illest dude on the block.

2. He was throwing D’s on it before Rich Boy knew what dubs were. Dude was financially committed to purchasing 20 D batteries…and batteries ain’t cheap. I don’t even know where to find D batteries anymore, plus those 20 of them joints would cost like $30-40 bucks…

3. Radio Raheem stays fit. 20 D batteries and boombox? …all day? NOT MEEEEEEE!!

4. Soundtrack. He lost points for only playing one track all the time, but the hardness of “Fight Power” in the film makes it absolutely appropriate. He’s you, your cousin, uncle, maybe dad, or that bum ass dude with a cell phone playing ringtone on the train. Again, he is the representation of that dude committed to his music and hip hop culture.

5. The chokehold. His murder was the turning point; it placed police brutality in plain view and sparked the humiliation, frustration, and anger in all of us. The garbage can in Sal’s Pizzeria was the perfect release for our feelings.

UGH!

See, now I'm upset. Why do these feminine ass colorways only come in men’s sizes? I don't know ANY dude that would buy and rock these. Seriously, Nike is so blowing mine with this men size 8 and up shit. What about the small feet people !? Why do you totally shit on us !? SHOW US SOME LOVEEEEEE!@#$ Stop releasing the hot kicks in the ginoroumous sizes!

UPDATE.

So Urban Outfitters has them. Unfortunately, only in the hot pink and green. Blah. No reason for ME to be excited!

It's A Sneaker Thing

The best commerical EVERRRRRR!

NYLON x Nike Sportswear

I was wondering what happened to these kicks, since they were supposed to drop on the 1st. Sigh, so I'm guessing the everyday consumer will NOT be able to cop these. OH THE AGONY!

NYLON Magazine will auction off five of its recently recent collaboration Nike Dunks in Mexico tomorrow. With proceeds going towards Proyecto Meteoro, the end result will hopefully benefit a wealth of homeless children living in substandard conditions in Mexico.

what can I say? it's for a good cause, but GOT DAMN! Nigs was extra - hyped for these.

my absolute favorites, which I was hoping to get:

Currently shedding a tear.

Asher BABY!

So, if anyone knows me, they know how much I'm in love with Asher Roth. Reigning from the suburbs of Morrisville, PA, Roth began rapping as a hobby, writing and recording tracks in a friend’s basement and selling copies while high school. He went to West Chester University, and became an Elementary Education major, while continuing to record verses over other peoples’ beats. During sophomore year, Roth posted some of his verses on his Myspace page and sent a Friend Request to Scooter Braun, an Atlanta-based promoter and former VP of Marketing for Jermaine Dupri's So So Def. One week after speaking to Braun, Roth flew down to Atlanta and was immediately signed by Braun, who then became his manager.

His style is impeccable, lyrically and fashionably. I don't really listen to rap anymore, but he's like my white Lupe Fiasco. WOW. lmao @ myself. Honest, and true. His lyrics are diverse, and reeks of passion, he doesn't try to be someone he's not, continuously embracing the fact that he's a suburban-raised boy. SIGH, he's just bang-worthy.

Plus, I have an absolute crush on him. Just need to meet him ONE time!

Be By Myself - Asher Roth

Regina Spektor

I was wondering what cliff she fell off of. Being a Brooklynite I just knew she wouldn't be a one hit wonder. Check out here new single "Laughing With", new album drops June 23rd.

Her videos are always so creative, I'm loving the person behind those ideas! I like her voice, but eh, the song I'm good.

MTV Movie Awards '09

The theme for the MTV Movie awards last Sunday had to be “ the little dress” Everything had a sense of youth, playfulness and even simplicity. Everyone took into consideration that it's about having fun at the awards.

Leighton Meester, looked so good, I like her in that edgy look. She absolutely killed it.

But Kristen, holy crappola. She screamed my kind of style. From the dress, kicks, to the not overly done hair. Exact reason why I bang with her! Fashionable, but yet still keeping true to herself. In a f-ing pair of Chucks! I loveth her.

Supra Society ‘Terry Kennedy Pro ‘Purple Suede

I'm really into rich-colored kicks lately. I hate hi-tops, but UGH! I can't resist these limited editions.

INSA.

A Crime For All Seasons.

Lanie Alabanza-Barcena, a San Diego native who moved to New York and got design gigs at places a lot of kids into street style would absolutely kill for (myself included), created Hellz Bellz when she saw how much street wear was lacking in the woman's market.

Since '05, Hellz Bellz has provided alternatives to the "cutsey" side of fashion, continuously pushing the envelope with in your face graphics, explicit imagery and bad girl attitude. The brand defies all the rules of conformity, since being heavily influenced by all thing subversive, from the streets of NY, '90s hip hop, to the sexploitation movies of the 1960s and '70s. Hellz Bellz is a movement on it's own, standing out amongst the many menswear brands in the industry. Progressive, hard, fast, rebels in society, and most importantly sexy, all describe what Lanie has accomplished with Hellz Bellz.

Lanie was once quoted saying "There is nothing more empowering for a women than to be able to hold her own without the help of a man."
She would know since working at Rocawear as the ladies art director, is a pretty big load to carry & when you work for corporations like that, it's often rare that you actually design what you want. It's politics there as anywhere else, especially working in a corporate area.
Imagine having to answer to the design director, who had to answer to head of production and sales, who had to answer to the merchandiser, who answered to Jay-Z ( if he's truly involved). Regardless, I would understand that killing the creativity of an artist, and why bother to put the effort into someone else success?
AND prior to her working at Hellz Bellz, and Rocawear, she was the ladies graphic designer at Triple 5 Soul, while also working for various private labels. All these different aspects of designs, and Lanie's ideas and designs are never stale!
Bottom line, with her daily grind after work, creating Hellz Bellz, to her determination to constantly move forward in the streetwear market, Lanie Alabanza-Barcena is hands down in my top ten inspirational women.
